Three Weeks.

Freshman. Freshie. Frosh. First year. First sem, 2009-2010.

Yehey!!! I really enjoy my time at school.

Oh, the joy of studying. Never in my life have I wanted to be absorbed in lessons, lectures, readings, and books... It's like I've started all over again.

Super saya kasi there are a lot of things that we could do... eat ice cream sold along the AsKal (a.k.a. Freshie Walk), read in the library, agonize over our Kas1 readings, make fun of one another (XD!!!!), talk about life, listen to corny U.P.-related jokes, spend at least ten minutes deciding whether to have lunch at Casaa or Katag.

Funny, everything feels so new, yet so old. XD

I'm extremely shy, the only other group of people I really talk to, aside from my blockmates, are those from my English class. I hate my "loner period," which is from 1pm to 2pm. (Next time, I'll take up Aikido with my blockmate or something. XD)

On Monday, I'll be attending the 2009 U.P. Pep Rally. I heard that it's fun. :D Oh, and next week is Freshie Week. Yay. :D

The only drawback is... allowance... :(

It seems like it always disappears quickly. Siempre desaparece r�pidamente. Hmmmph.

I would figure something out. :D

First Day. :D

Hooray! I survived my first day of school.

Not a really cosmic experience, I must say. It was quite a stressful, surreal blur.

First, I miss my very first class (NOT my fault!!!). Excellent start, isn't it? Talk about annoying announcements. Boo!

Fortunately, I was able to ask a blockmate about the Math class. We've got homework. (I've just finished it, by the way.)

My second subject for the day (Kasaysayan 1) was b-o-r-i-n-g. Sure, the prof wasn't present, but since I was still this little lonely floater, sitting in for the first thirty minutes seemed like a long, long time. Then, our other classmates (not just my blockmates, mind you!) agreed that we should just leave.

So it left me with two hours to wander around the rainy campus. I felt so alone, though there are a lot of familiar faces on campus. (Well, I really didn't like seeing some of them. Fortunately, those people didn't see me. Whew.)

There are a few interesting stuff, though. Well... I was able to identify freshmen. (Being alone made me observe harder, I guess.) And, I really did see the whole "diversity" thing. Hmm. It is really quite new for me, this level of freedom. People smoke on campus (urgh!!!) and I really don't like seeing girls dressed immodestly (I simply cannot avoid it).

Oh well... things might get better soon.

Art Class

It's time I tell you about my art class.

I attend Mr. F.B. Sena's Easy Art Lessons. The guy's really great. He's been teaching kids to draw since around the 1970's, I think. He's the "Father of Philippine Art Workshops". He's really amazing; a legend.

My class started in Summer 2007. I used to go to Q.C. every Thursday morning (mainit talaga dun sa nilalakaran ko sa Quezon Ave.) for this. Well... it paid off eventually; by the end of the Beginner course I got a grade of 98, which earned me a trophy (my first ever trophy... to think that it was for artistic recognition...), and two medals for Best in Card Making and Best in Homework.

I took the Advanced 1 class in June that same year. (It was in another venue, and on Saturdays this time.) There Mama got ideas if ever I would hold my own art exhibit (whoa!)... I didn't really get to formally finish the Advanced 1 course, though. I missed the last few lessons.

And then, Meggie was inactive for year 2008. I could have finished the Advanced 2 class (which I am taking up now) last year, but what I did last summer is hang up the laundry everyday (well, except Sunday). That's the only productive thing I've done then.

Now my classes are on Fridays, at the Powerbooks SM Megamall branch. (Yes, hindi na malayo. ) My brother is taking up the Beginner cpurse.

Thing is, I'm the only Advanced 2 student in our class, so it's a kind of... er, embarrassing sometimes. Advanced 2 focuses on painting on canvas (using oil or acrylic). So people stand around and watch me paint. Some even take pictures of my paintings. Um, nakahihiya na ewan.

Today I started working on a landscape painting (I just finished a still life last session). Ta-dah.



It just shows how messy my work station is. (I suppose real artists are like this, though. Haha.)

And it's still kind of ugly...

I'll work on it this week.
